In a world where failed relationships are seen as lucrative opportunities for repeat customers, DateoCorp's algorithm identifies Brad and Bella as the perfect candidates for a chaotic (and profitable) romance.

The manipulation is pervasive, as the AI controls what they see on their phones, who calls them, and even instigates job changes and neighborly interactions. This omnipresent influence creates a surreal landscape where the characters are constantly at the mercy of the algorithm's whims.

However, the computer misunderestimates the humans. It just doesn't understand people. The computer lacks free will, leading to the ironic conclusion that if it can't choose, why should it assume that humans can? This theme resonates throughout the film, as Brad and Bella navigate the chaos created by DateoCorp's machinations.

When it seems that they might actually start getting along, the DateoCorp computer sends shadowy operatives to interfere, adding a layer of suspense and comedy. The operatives, with their over-the-top antics, serve as a humorous reminder of the lengths to which technology will go to maintain its control.

Composer DJ Pinatubo, known for his innovative electronic scores, has single-handedly created a new genre of music for this film: romantic dubstep.
